NZ Property Boundaries
LINZ’s composite property view uses rating units as its main source, with spatialised titles and parcels filling gaps. A rating unit represents a rateable property and can combine several titles; the mapped outline is not necessarily one legal parcel or title, or a boundary position on the ground.

How to interpret this dataset
Rating units are based on District Valuation Roll records and can aggregate several spatialised titles into one rateable property. Titles and parcels fill gaps where rating-unit geometry is unavailable. The linked National District Valuation Roll table is a subset: LINZ publishes only data supplied by territorial authorities that have permitted public release. National DVR data for all territorial authorities is restricted to government organisations. The composite is not a cadastral parcel layer or a legal title extent; do not use its line to locate an on-ground boundary. For rating or valuation record corrections, contact the relevant council. For the LINZ layer or service, use LINZ Data Service; for an on-ground boundary, contact a licensed cadastral surveyor.
